Could Thyroid Disorder Be Related To Stuttering?

iam 20 years old, i started stuttering when i was 8 years old after the war in Iraq, i was really scared and my mom said that my hands became really hard and i couldn t move it, and my skin turned blue for less than a minute. Lately i went to a doctor and he wanted some blood test for TSH and free T4 , my question is, does thyroid has something to do with my stuttering?

Hi,

Yes,Stuterring is common sign of low thyroid disorder. Though in your case it can be due to excessive weather change-stress of war.

You should get your thyroid function test done to confirm the situation.Start with specific treatment as advised by Endocrinologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
