Could The Screw Be The Cause Of Lethargy, depression And Stomach Upset?

I broke my ankle back in 2007. A metal plate an screws were used and are still in place. The screws are visible and stick out, but what I am really worried about is that since they were put in I have been lethargic, almost depressed and have had stomach issues and headaches and generally feel crummy most of the time. Is it possible the plate and screws could be the cause?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Lethargy, depression, stomach issues and headaches can occur in depressive disorder also. But same time there is need to medical causes of these symptoms like infection, vitamin deficiency and hormonal imbalance.

In my opinion plate and screw are less likely cause of your suffering. If stress is in excess which usually happen in depression then consultation with psychiatrist will help.

Wishing you good health and all the best.
