Could Severe Abdominal Pain Be Related To Wisdom Tooth Extraction?

yes, My daughter had her wisdom teeth removed 4 days ago and she is experieincing severe stomach pain. She has not taken any pain medicines since 2am yesterday morning. I sm not sure if the stomach pain is related to the extraction, so I am not sure what to do for her. Any suggestions?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern.

The pain in stomach usually don't occur due to tooth extraction . But there can be two reasons for stomach pain .

- Due to excess dose of anesthesia during procedure .

- Because of acute gastritis to to painkillers .

If it is due to anesthesia then it will go away after few days as anesthesia clear off from blood .

Do not take pain killer ibuprofen as it can make things worse .

Take paracetamol for pain .

Take antacid for acidity .

Avoid spicy food .

Consult gastroenterologist for proper examination.

Doctor may prescribe H2 blocker , proton pump inhibitor or ornidazole .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
