hello doctor,
my wife is 31 yrs old,in her early child hood she had diagnose with RHD and operation was successful it was done here in Mumbai Sion. we were married about 8 yrs.in the year 2007 we conceived and had twins, she was asked to switch on Hyperion injection in her first trimester and last three weeks.it was really a pain ful task.after delivery our infant could not survive due fatal infection cause, they remain with us for about three to four month and continue fighting in hospital.

Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
I think you mean Heparin injections.
RHD if corrected surgically and if she is stable, there is no reason why she cannot have a successful pregnancy.
Please could you elaborate what was the fatal infection that the twins had ?
If your wife is clinically stable, then again there is no link between the RHD and the fetal death.
Is it that the twins were born premature, and hence had infection ?
It is difficult to comment without proper details.
She should take her cardiac medications on schedule, and have a clearance from the Cardiologist, before planning the next pregnancy.

In my experience, most women even with complicated cardiac illnesses go on to deliver normally.
Take care.
