Could Receiving Oral Sex Cause Infections?

Hi, I briefly did something with a woman I did not know, but I decided it was stupid so we stopped...she put my you know what in her mouth for less than a second two times, very briefly, to lubricate to use her hand, but we decided it was stupid. However, she may have been trying to get money for smth and not sure if she got around. I know it was stupid, but what are the risks for that second? I washed when I came in, no cuts on me but still. I didn;t know she was going to do that, now I am worried.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, there are varying chances of different infections through oral sex as

- Human papilloma virus
- cytomegalovirus
- herpes
- gonorrhea
- other anaerobic infections
- HIV ( in few instances )

* However, not every oral sex is having equal chances, that depends upon multiple factors as following have high chances:

- breech in the continuity of the skin and mucus membrane over either side of partner
- active lesion or disease in any of the partner
- long duration of oral sex with much exchange of body fluids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
