Could Pain In Joints And Muscles Be Related To Thyroid Disorder?

I am on Levothyroxine 0.075mg for hypothyroidism. I have been on this does for three years and my MD says it is an approriate dose. I have started having increasing muscle and some joint pain that I think is related to my thyroid. Is there something else I should be taking?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear Patient,

normally there is no direct association between joint pain and hypothyroidism. Your MD should run some blood tests/ antibodies for joint and tissue rheuma to find out the reason. Once the cause is found your question what you could take can be answered. Until then you can take some antiinflammatory pills like ibuprofen or similar after checking back with your md. Hope you get better soon, if you have any clarificatons you can get back to me, if this was helpful please kindly rate my answer. Best regards
