Hi,

Bactrim DS contains combination of antibiotics Sulfmethoxazole and Trimethoprim used against bacterial infections affecting respiratory system, urinary system, gastrointestinal system, ear infections, etc. Common side effects are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, decreased appetite. etc. The symptoms may be severe to affect the normal life in some individuals. In that case, alternative antibiotics are advised. Anti-emetics may help to overcome nausea. Discuss with your doctor for dose alteration or alternate medicine.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pradeepraj, General & Family Physician
