Could Memory Loss And Muscle Pain Be Side Effects Of Lipitor?

In the past I have been on lipitor, (Feb.4, 2001.) Went off July 21, 2001,and had very bad pains in most muscles. I also had memory loss and also had a problem with pains in both my arms. If I needed to urinate I would get a numbing pain in my upper both arms. If I would not urinate for quite awhile the pain went farther down both arms to the fingers. Then after I did pass my water it immediately would leave both arms. I am still blaming this on this statin drug, and I could be wrong. Please respond. Thank you, Don

Hello Don,

I understand your concern.
Lipitor may cause muscle pain in some people while on it . It may be associated with an elevation of muscle enzymes. I presume that you are not on any statin group of medicines. The muscle pain from a statin taken in 2001 cannot be the cause of your pain now.
I am not in a position to suggest an organic diagnosis from the only symptom of pain in the arms when your urinary bladder gets full. If you have additional symptoms let me know. I would be interested in knowing whether you saw any doctor during these years and if so what the diagnosis was.
Take care,
Dr. Noble Zachariah
