Could Irregular Menstruation Be Due To PCOs?

I have hyper thyroid. I took iPill (emergency contraceptive pill) in Feb. I had my period for that month at the regular date on 02/24. But the next period in March did not happen and it moved to next month on 4/12. Again the period skipped for the month of May and now it is June and it has not yet started. I have primary chances of PCOS. Can you please help me?

Hello,

You have history of hyperthyroidism. You are also suspecting PCOS. You have missed periods. Since you have missed periods you can wait for a couple of days and get a pregnancy test done. Get clinically examined by a gynecologist to confirm it. If you are pregnant you will be accordingly managed and if you are not pregnant your treating doctor will recommend few tests and investigations for detailed study.

In the meantime get treated for thyroid. PCOS does cause irregular periods, heavy or scanty periods. You may need HRT done. Take food rich in minerals like iron, calcium, zinc and proteins. Avoid addictions if any. Stay away from stress. You can take tonics for uterus orally (Uterofem).

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
