Could Intermittent Pain In Abdomen Be Due To Constipation?

hi there!

im getting stomach pains! they are very irregular, affect my sleep and make me feel like i need to go do a number 2 but when i do try to go i jsut fart and thats it!

the pain gets really bad and sometimes goes all night. it seems the only thing that helps is if i sip water?? i always know when im going to get these pains as i feel really funny! agitated, bloated, loss of appetite and real edgy!

as i said before they are irregular but im getting them more and more often!! i went to my local gp and he said it was constipation! im not sure! just anything to get rid of it!!

thanks

Hello,

The given history of abdominal pain could be colicky and without associated symptoms of nausea, vomiting, fatigue may be due to nonspecific reason, at the most it may be due to dyspepsia, diet and eating habits matters the great.

If this is the constipation, to get rid of constipation and dyspepsia have more fiber containing diet, drink more water, avoid taking spicy food, fat containing food, no need to worry if you do not pass the stool for days.

I would like to advise you to keep the regular habit of going for defecation even in the absence of this, be there and do not worry.

If you do not pass the stool, for abdomen pain you can try tablet Dicyclomine, in differential thinking it could be IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome) too.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
