Could Intake Of Belviq Cause Recurring Chest Pain?

I have been having recurring chest pains for the last week or so. I don t have anxiety, and the chest pain is not attributable to reflux or heartburn. The only thing I have done differently in the past few weeks is starting Belviq. Could this be the cause?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Used together with diet and exercise to treat obesity, the most common side effects of Belviq include headache, decreased blood sugar, decreased hemoglobin, euphoria, and decreased lymphocytes.

Other side effects include constipation, dizziness, fatigue, increased serum prolactin, nausea, and dry mouth. Belviq is unlikely to be the cause for recurring chest pain. You are advised to consult your doctor for further evaluation of recurring chest pain.

Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
