Hi,i got my period twice this month and when i did an ultrasound 2 doctors told me i must be in early stages of pregnancy. To make sure i got a 4d ultrasound which showed a polyp. Can they be mistaken? Could i be pregnant? Ive done a pregnancy test but it was negative. I have had intercourse a day ago and yesterday saw signs of bleeding again. I am confused
If you did a pregnancy test and it was negative, you are NOT pregnant. The 4D ultrasound is much more accurate than a conventional one and polyps in the uterus are a common cause of irregular bleeding. If they did not check a pregnancy test when you had your first ultrasounds, it is easy to mistake clotted blood and tissue for pregnancy.
If your irregular bleeding continues, and the polyp is still visible in a few months, you may want to consider a surgical procedure to remove the polyp. Seeing a GYN doctor for a consultation and letting them review all your reports will be helpful in making a decision what to do next.
I hope this advice was helpful and answered your question.
Best regards, Dr. Brown
