Could Foot Ulcer Without Diabetes Be Due To Lack Of Activity?

My dad has a foot ulcer but does not have diabetes. He is 73 and has not excercised or moved very often for the last 10 years. Could his lack of activity/movement be the cause? Also, #2, he says he can't breath cold air that it's bad for him. Is that true? It's his excuse that he never goes outside. Thanks so much for you help!

I am so sorry to hear about this ulcer that your father has. Ulcer can be caused by many different conditions like poor blood flow, swollen legs, trauma, etc. The problem at this point is that we cannot tell what the exact cause of his is without a thorough clinical evaluation and maybe some testing. Cold airin itself is not bad but if it causes ill health to your dad like breathing difficulties, it may be the reason for his refusal. I can say why he has this ulcer and why he sees to say cold air is bad for him. Get him consulted and evaluated for a proper assessment to understand what the exact cause of this is.
