Could Fatigue, Chest Pain And Pressure Upper Chest Be A Result Of Stress?

I ve been having fatigue, chest pain and pressure in my upper center chest right near the coller bone meet the upper chest for the last 6 months now the pressure can sometimes last most of the day but and the pain presents itself as a shooting pain only when I lift somthing heavy or or my body in a certain way, sometimes my shoulders feel tense and between my should blades sometimes do too, the pain does not feel deep and tends to be worse whilst at work ( I work as a truck driver). During the last 6 months I have had 2 ECG test one at my gp which was normal and the other at the hospital which was also normal, I also have had three different blood test one at the hospital which came back normal, one at the orthapidic doctor along with a chest X-ray and nothing was found and finally I had another one at the gp and I came back positive for Erpstein Bart virus. Could these pains all be stress related or due being in sat in a driving position all day long I did have three weeks off work last month and I did take iburpthane and the pain was almost none existent but since I ve started work again the pain/pressure started to come back. Looking forward to a respond and thanks in advance danny

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

First of all, no need to worry about major heart and lung diseases because your ECG, chest, and blood reports are normal. So the possibility of stress and anxiety related symptoms are more likely.

So better to consult the psychiatrist and get done counseling sessions. Try to identify the stressor in your life and start working on its solution.

You will need anxiolytic drugs (Propranolol and Flunarizine combination) too. Avoid stress and tension, be calm. Also, avoid prolonged driving, and take frequent breaks in driving.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Kaushal Bhavsar
