Could Donating A Kidney Result In Erectile Dysfunction?

hello I donated a kidney on 01/26/05 and was honored to give it to a little girl who is a good friend of the family. my question is that is there a way I can have erectile disfuntion because of the surgery? I have a girlfriend now and it is becoming a problem and I feel less than when the time comes? thanks for any suggestions. Roy.

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have donated your kidney 8 years back and have noticed erectile dysfunction recently.

Please note that this is not related to surgery of donating kidney.

In absence of any major health issue this is mind related and due to anxiety.Following measure will help you to boost up your confidence and getting good erection.and delay ejaculation.
1) Practice regular exercise for 45 minutes followed by meditation for 1/2 an hour in the morning.
2) Take high protein diet rich in vegetables and fruits and Vitamin A,C,D,E.and Zinc
3)Take anti oxidants like Almonds 5-6 everyday..
4) Avoid alcohol and smoking..

Taking medicines like Sildenafil (Viagra) will help to get good hard sustainable erection to have enjoyable sex.

Get prescription and guidance regarding dosage and timing to be taken from your family Physician.
