Could Chloasma Be A Symptom Of Pregnancy?

Could chloasma be a sign that I am pregnant? I am due to start my period and have noticed brown patches on my forehead and above my upper lip. I have read that chloasma usually appears during the second trimester. Is there any other reason for it? I am not taking any medication and have not taken the contraceptive pill for a few years.

Hi there, I have understood your concern. I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

1 ) First of all do not panic.

2 ) As you might be aware that the very first and important sign of pregnancy is a missing period.

3 ) If you have history of unprotected sex act in the fertile period of cycle, means between day 10 to 20 of the cycle, then you stand chance to get pregnant.

If you have missed your periods, then I will suggest you to get morning's first sample of urine tested for pregnancy. In case of doubt blood beta HCG test and USG will be of help.

4 ) Unless we have some evidence of pregnancy, your symptoms can not be attributed to pregnancy.

I hope this answer helps you.
Thanks.
