Could Brown Vaginal Discharge Be The Withdrawal Symptom Of Depo Shot?

I ve been on the depo shot now for about 5 shots now and I want to get off it and now I have brown blood/discharge. I did have unprotected sex right before my window came up. I m almost out of my window now. Would this just be a symptom from my shot ?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The Depo shot withdrawal is not associated with the brown vaginal discharge. The cause of brown vaginal discharge may be in concern with
- Vaginal infection
- Cervicitis
- Vaginal hygiene related
- Alteration in vaginal flora or pH
- Fungal infection
- UTI associated

Kindly get checked with your OBGYN for physical examination and necessary swab tests to get best cause of concern and treat accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
