Could Bad Odor In Nose Be Due To Dental Infection?

I think I have a sinus infection, but it could also be related to necessary dental work to be done. I experience a very bad smell or odor in my nose, particularly when I bend over and stand back up. I also think that I have bacteria in my sinus cavities, causing me to smell this bad odor. Could this be the result of a dental infection? I have a few broken teeth (bicuspids and molars), but my nerves are unaffected. My doctor is treating me with Bactrim and after two days, the bad odor in my nose has not subsided the least bit. Your thoughts, as well as any possible diagnosis condition(s)? Thank you.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern....

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms bad odour from nose in your case is completely related to your sinus issue and not due to any dental work or dental infections as in case of decayed teeth or there is any dental work done the bad odour is originated from mouth and you can have a bad smell or a bad breath..
As the sinuses drain through nose so any infection in the sinus can lead to bad smell originating in nose and it is not at all a dental issue..
You should consult an ENT expert in this regard and get evaluated and he can treat you very well with antibiotics, nasal sprays and steam inhalations to relieve..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
