Could Trileptal Cause Uncontrollable Temper?

My grandson is taking Trilptal twice a day , for the last month or so he has experienced uncontrolled temper outbursts , and it s not getting any better with his parents taking away his videos games. He just experienced a very severe temper outburst that lasted a good 20 to 30 mins. His mother video taped him and and he became more agitated and extremely angry. Do you know if the Trilptal could be causing him this side effect?

Hello and thanks for using HCM. Trileptal can cause these problems. Here is a typical warning for use of trileptal:
Report any new or worsening symptoms to your doctor, such as: mood or behavior changes, depression, anxiety, or if you feel agitated, hostile, restless, hyperactive (mentally or physically), or have thoughts about suicide or hurting yourself.
You need to have your grandson seen by his treating physician as soon as possible.
