Chronic Pain From Car Accident Injuries So Should Butron Patches Be Increased From 5 To 10 Mg And Hydrocodone From 2 To 4 A Day?

My doctor put me on butran patches (5mg) a month ago, he cut the hydrocodone I was taking from 4 a day down to 2 a day. I have chronic pain from injuries from car accidents, back, crushed shoulder, long boring list, anyway, I am going to see him tomorrow. Have I been on the 5mg. butran long enough to be put on a 10 mg. patch, and I also feel I need to go back to the 4 hydrocodones a day. I don t want my Doctor to think I am trying to get more medicine, I feel I need more medicine. Thanks for listening!

Hi, welcome to Health care magic forum.
You are accepting that you have chronic pains from the accident. Still you are in need of some more, that is what is called the craving.
After some time you need still more. Any how it is not advisible to continue to have it. Slowly you should cut this as well.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms neurotropic injections for 10 consecutive days, and then periodically. N.S.A.I.D.for pain relief when ever there is pain.
