Choking, Spitting Up Food, Pain, Vomiting Blood. Need Stretching Of Esophagus

I have in the past, had to have my esophagus what they called "stretched", I haven.t been able to do it in quite a while. because of several other health problems. So today, I had a "spell" od choking & having to spit up my food. Then U felt some amount of pain and vomited bright rerd blood 3_4 times. I got it to quit bleeding, & and trying to relax to prevent anything further till I can get to Dr. Is this ok or what else should I look for?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, You need stretching of esophagus and I presume that there is a stricture in your esophagus. This leads to difficulty in swallowing more so to solids. The vomiting or spitting of food is because of that and as it does not pass through the food pipe because of narrowing.
The red blood which came can be because of two reasons; a forceful vomiting leading to small lacerations in the esophageal mucosa or the condition which led to development of that stricture or narrowing. So, please get an esophagoscopy done and that will also dilate the area and put some lite on the cause of bleeding. Till that time, please take Proton Pump Inhibitors in sachet form and mucain gel syrup and you may need to take liquid or semisolid diet. Regards
