Choking Feeling In Stomach During Bowel Movement, Irritation In Anus. Normal Test Results. Taking Sompraz L. Suggestions?
Dear SIr,
When i go for motions in the morning, after passing some stool, i feel as if something has been choked up in the stomach. I feel irritation at the back in the anus portion, I feel as if something is still left. When I go for second time, there is no change in the situation. I had consulted the Doctor. As per his advice I did Ultra-sound and Blood tests. All reports are normal. He advised me to take Sompraz L for one month, which i am taking regularly. But the situation is the same. Kindly please advice.

I went through your complaints - choking feeling in the stomach looks like a spasmodic pain. As it is associated with your bowel movements it may be a smooth muscle pain arising from the intestinal bowel felt in the stomach area. The sensation of not evacuated fully and irritation in the anus may be due to so many causes - few of the common causes are Microscopic colitis, haemorrhoids, peptic ulcer etc.
As USG abdomen is normal, if Antacids + Antispasmodic (like Dicyclomine) do not give a relief and if hemorrhoids are excluded you may need further investigations like colonoscopy and endoscopy. Meanwhile any skin lesions, producing itching around the anus are to be ruled out. Even rectal discharge can produce itching around the anus.
