Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

Why is your child having dehydration?

Is he having any vomiting or loose stool?

If a child is loosing weight lack of proper intake of proteins and calories could be one of the various causes.

So give him food rich in proteins and calories. (like milk, milk products, rice and dal along with ghee added, etc)

Hope this helps.
Take care.

Hi
Welcome to HCM
Greetings of the day
The weight loss is due to dehydration and loss of water. Diarhoea in children is mainly viral infection(Rotaviruse). Deworming has no role in management. It is self limiting and the basic principle is not to allow dehydration to develop by giving adequate oral fluids(not just plain water) in form of ORS, Coconut water, Kanji, Rice and dhal water with salt added(popularly known as home made rehydration solution). Since the child is loosing weight please consult Pediatrician at earliest.
Take Care

Hi
Thanks for your query.
Is your child having diarrrhea?
If yes maintain hydration by giving oral rehydration solution, coconut water, lemonade, curd, boiled potato, rice porridge.
I will not suggest you not to give any medication of your own.
Sometimes child becomes fussy and do not eat properly.Try to be patient with him.Feed him with other family members.

If it persist get your child evaluated by pediatrician for proper management.

Wishing your child good health.
God bless..
