Child Having Loose, Foul Smelling Stools With Mucus, Pain In The Anus. Had Similar Occurrences In The Past. Is It Worrisome?

Hi... My four year old has been passing loose, mucus odorous stool . This has occurred in the recent past. She complains that it hurts and points to her bottom. Several of the times she does not make it to the bathroom. This will go on for a few days and the subsides. Being that it has happened before should I be concerned?

Hi ,
Thank you for your query.
Your child has viral diarrhea.
Avoid milk, fruits, juices and wheat products for the time being.
Give him pro-biotic syrup, zinc and ORS.
Apply some emollient cream to the perianal area.
He should recover in a few days.
Consult your doctor if the problem persists.
