THEY PUT HIM ON DEPKOTE AND IT DIDNT SUSIDE SO WE JUST RECENTLY DID ANOTHER EEG AND THEY DIDNT PICK UP ANY MYOCLONIC SIGNS. Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about what your son is experiencing. The type of seizure is often diagnosed clinically and the EEG only comes in to confirm the clinical diagnosis.

Myoclonic seizures present with muscle contraction and sustained jerky movements while atonic will send the child dropping to the floor as a result of loss of muscle tone(atonic). It is difficult for me to tell without observing or asking further questions. Please, ask his treating doctor frankly what his thoughts are and why on this. It is your right and never feel shy to ask.

I hope you find this helpful. Thank you for using our services and please feel free to request for more information if need be. I wish you well good health.
