Child. Severe Cough. Prescribed Ambrodil S, Moxclav BD Syrup, Omnacartil. Right Medication?
My daughter us been taking ambrodil-s syrup and moxclav BD syrup for last 5days and now she has been prescribed syrup omnacartil for 3mor days along with the above medicines . Is the treatment correct becos she is coughing too much. She is 4yrs old . also tell me what is omnacartil syrup used for . And befor going tothe doc i was giving her linctus coscopin syrup for cough and she was responding also but the doc said to give her ambrodil syrup for the mucus to come out . Should i give her linctus as she stops coughing with tht but with ambrodil she keeps coughing day a d night continuosly.Kindly help.

Your child is having respitatory infection.
I suggest you to continue with medication as prescribed by your doctor.
Sometimes it takes longer for infection to settle.
Omnacortil is prednislone which is anti inflammatory .
Regarding linctus it is for dry cough and as per your doctor it is productive in nature for which expectorant will help.
Give steam inhalation also.
Be in regular follow up with your pediatrician .

Omnacortil is steroid (prednisolon), Treatment is ok .linctus is a cough supressant if there is LRTI IT WILL BE HARMFUL.
