Hi, I have come from India to us, and my 2 years and 9 month old daughter has allery induced congestion and phlegm in throat....in India, the doctor had prescribed bricarex exp 2.5 ml 3 times a day...as we left India for us, we could not buy bricarex exp in time...so what is the equivalent drug that we can use in us? Is mucinex fine as a substitue for bricarex?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.
Mucinex expectorant is a substitute for Bricarex Expectorant in the USA.
But the dosage and composition may vary in brands.
I suggest you to consult the pediatrician for physical examination of the child to know the cause for his cough and to examine the lungs for any abnormal sounds.
Use medication as per prescriptions.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
