Chest Pain And Dehydration After Lifting Weight And Hiking Up Hill. Can Dehydration Cause Microscopic Blood In Urine?

I had a urinalysis done ... Says I had rbc 4-10 and also keytones 2+ Occult blood 2+ everything else was negative.

Doctors wants to wait 2 weeks and check again

History of problem
I worked out hiking up a hill for 1 hour. And then lifted weights and chest hurt really bad could barely move a day before I did test. I was moderate dehydrated, at time of urine test I had not eaten or drank all day and test was done at 4 pm.....

Could being moderate dehydrated cause microscopic blood in urine?

Hi!
Welcome to HCM!
Dehydration in and of itself is very unlikely to cause blood in the urine (hematuria).Red blood cells can show up in the urine for a number of different reasons including infection, trauma, tumors and stones.
Severe dehydration could theoretically lead to direct kidney damage, which could also lead to blood in the urine, but this degree of dehydration would have other severe manifestations as well. Recent trauma or strenuous exercise can be responsible.
Production of ketone bodies is a normal response to a shortage of glucose,in starvation meant to provide an alternate source of fuel from fatty acids.urinary ketones are tested to assess the severity of acidosis and to monitor treatment response. Urine ketones appear before there is any significant increase in blood ketones therefore, urine ketone measurement is especially helpful in emergency situations and conditions associated with acidosis.
your tests seem to be abnormal because of starvation and strenuous exercise!take care of your diet and fluid intake!
