Chest Pain After Fall, Swelling Over Rib, Upper Abdomen Pain, Nausea

Hello, I'm a 34 year old female. About 8 months ago I had a fall; it wasn't very hard but I fell very twisted. I thought I had cracked my ribs then. I had intense pain in the middle of my chest below my breast where my ribs meet. After about 2 weeks I noticed a big swollen ball had developed over my left rib. It's been 8 mo's and I'm still hurting all of the time. My upper abdomen hurts, burns and is nauseous constantly. It seems worse when I eat. The many, many doctors I have seen haven't given it much thought. They have said it must be traumatized fat. I don't understand this when my symptoms have worsened over time.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The big ball that you have noticed at the site of the old fracture could be due to callus formation which is a normal process of bone healing. An X-ray of the area will help in proper diagnosis.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
