Cause For Chronic Right Sided Headpain?

I am being referred to a Neurologist for chronic right sided headpain that I ve had for 6 months now. My family doctor has run out of ideas. What can I expect him to do for me. I m already on morphine tablets everyday and have had negative results from CT Scan and MRI. WHat s next?

Since you have already seen the Doctor several times, I assume that nothing concrete has been found. In such a case, it is possible that you have a migraine.

A migraine is a reptitive and recurrent headache that occurs from time to time. It is also caused due to a trigger factor and we need to identify the trigger factor. Examples of trigger factors include noise, cold and heat.

There are a few things you can try which may help you to resolve this:
- Drink lots of water
- Try inhaling steam
- Take 2 tablets of Paracetamol on the day that you get the headache
- Identify and avoid the trigger factors

Also, in advanced cases you can see a Doctor to get Anti-migraine medication. These will benefit you greatly.
