Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Normally forcible stretching of urethra in male causes extensive damage to penile urethra.
This injury causes bleeding from urethra and this is a common features in old age patient .
As you stated that bleeding is from the intestine and in stool.
In my opinion injury to urethra don't cause any bleeding from intestine ( due to catheter).
So intestinal bleeding may be .
1 Any ulcer in intestine , diagnosis can be confirmed by colonoscopy .
2 Hemorrhoid may be the another reason . Diagnosis can be confirmed by physical examination by a surgeon .
3 If blood is fresh , may be from large intestine , but if dark color may be from stomach .
In my opinion consult a physician and get his opinion for colonoscopy .
Good luck. Dr. HET
