Can Withdrawal From Drugs Cause High Libido?

I've been dating a recovering drug addict for four years. He has two years clean from Heroin. He recently told me he masterbates 3 times a day and if I would move in with him, regular sex would help him not to have the history of indecretions he's experienced. He's been masterbating to deal with his high libido...he's 48. Should I be concerned, is this normal?

I went through your details. I am sorry to say that masturbation is a habit influenced by impulse. There cannot be any issue of keeping his libido normal. In fact, frequent masturbation (like the one your friend has, thrice daily) could be stressful and in fact can worsen the libido. High libido is not because of his withdrawal. In fact, there is no high libido at all. It is just his habit and he can't leave it for now. He is taking prior approval in a disguised manner. I suggest you convince him to consult a sexologist.
