Can Using Flutibact Be Safe For Dark Scars And Itching Sensation To Child?

Hi My 3year old gets too many mosquito bites and on scratching it leads to dark scars with itching. She was prescribed flutibact ointment. We have been using thus whenever she gets a mosquito bite. Is it safe to use ? Also her scars are getting old and dark. It's all over her legs .Can we use flutibact itself for the scars or try mederma like products ?

Hi Dear ,

As per your query your 3 year old child has been prescribed Flutibact cream for dark scars and itching sensation . Well Fluticasone cream is a topical corticosteroid. It works by reducing skin inflammation . It reduces inflammation and itching caused by certain skin conditions . As it contain corticosteroid , i would suggest you to use it strictly as per prescription as it can cause certain side effects in long term . As far as scars are concern use kojic acid cream ( kojivit ) twice a day , which is safe and apply cold compresses to reduce redness and itchyness . If condition doesn't get improve or get worse then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe retinoids , vitamin e oil and steroid ointment according to condition .
