Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have tonsillitis from last 3 months and treatment is doing no good . Well tonsillitis occur when upper respiratory track infection like strep throat left untreated or occur again . If other treatments are not helping you out , tonsils interfere in swallowing and respiration and if there is bleeding from tonsils . I would suggest you to opt every option before going for tonsillectomy . Your doctor may prescribe you stronger antibiotics along with medicine to reduce inflammation / Your doctor has suggest you the right thing that inflammation should be reduce as much as possible before going for surgery . For now do warm saline gargles , do betadine gargles also , and give warm compresses to neck externally .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
