Can Thyroid Disease Cause Heart Palpitations?

My son has been experiencing a pounding heart for the last two months. He has been to emergency, where they did a scan of his stomach because he had symptoms of an ulcer. Everything came out fine. I was just reading about thyroids and wondered if this could be the cause. He is 22 and usually healthy.

Hi dear..palpitations of heart at 22 the possible cause includes mitral valve prolapse,arrhythmia etc..I suggest get echocardiogram and ECG done and consult a cardiologist..he can take tab.metoprolol 25 mg once a day for palpitations..hope this will help you
