Can The Insects In The Hair Be Bird Mites?

Hello, I am 17 years old. Today I was watching siblings under a tree. My mom did my hair and said she saw two small animals on my head, but she said they aren t headlice(ive had headlice before). She described them as small brown animals. I googled stuff and i thought maybe it d be bird mites. HELP.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Scalp infestation with mites, lice or any such creature can be easily tackled with 1% Permethrin rinse. Apply this on your entire scalp and from root to tip of your hair and leave it for 30 minutes, then wash with water followed by combing with a narrowly spaced comb. Repeat after 7 days and you are done with such things.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vanya Narayan
