Can Taking Milk Of Magnesia Be Safe For Lack Of Bowel Movement After Hernia Repair?

Had hernia repair surgery and roux en y revision surgery on the 29th and have not had a bowel movement since ... I have been taking Mir a lax and colace for 3 days and today milk of magnesia per my surgeons on call this morning but I don t think this is normal should I try something else?

Hi,
You can take Milk of magnesia for bowel movement.
This is mild purgative and takes some time for proper bowel movement.
If it did not work, you might require enema to remove hard fecal material grom intestinal system.
Take plenty of water and more fiber containing food.
Ok and take care.
