Can Taking Levodopa/Carbidopa Help Treat Candida Infection?

A friend of mine has had a problem with persistent candida infection for many years. She was recently diagnosed with Parkinson s disease, and upon starting levodopa/Carbidopa her Candida disappeared and hasn t reappeared. Is this a coincidence or is it cause and effect?

Hi,

Levodopa/carbidopa combination is commonly prescribed to treat Parkinson's disease. It has no whatsoever 'antifungal' activity against the candida. So, it may be just a coincidence.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
