Can Stopping Elavil And Taking Zoloft Cause Swinging Sensation And Confusion?

Hello... my doctor told me I cold stop taking elavil 10mg..... cold turkey and ...... instead I started Zoloft.... now I feel like I am moving back and forth and I am sitting down........... I do not know if it is Elavil withdrawl or the Zoloft.... :?

Yes Zoloft (sertraline) which is selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) can very well cause confusion, swinging sensation. Apart from it other major side effects are drowsiness, dizziness, tired feeling, mild nausea, stomach pain, constipation,dry mouth etc. I will advice you to take advice from your consultation report the problem to him and ask him to replace Zoloft with any other better drug or to start again Elavil
