Can Smoking Marijuana Cause Fingernails And Adjoining Skin Peeling?
I'm a 22 year old marijuana smoker weighing around 65kg and I've been smoking for a while now (2 years)... I smoke on a daily basis... I've noticed something about my finger nails... they are not changing colour or anything but they seem to be peeling especially around the edges of my fingers.. not just the nails but the edge skin of my fingers too.. it feels and looks dry and moisturising doesnt seem to be helping... is it the weed thats causing this? what can I do to make my nails look better and stop this from happening?
dermatologic conditions are difficult to evaluate without seeing them. MINOR changes in the circulation/moisture of fingers causes the skin to wear off faster and gives minor pealing of little significance. Any type of smoking changes the oxygenation (slightly and reversibly) and blood circulation (usually to a not very important amount). So, minor changes with smoking can cause minor changes in the skin. Probably the worst of this is more rapid development of facial wrinkling.
