Can Sedation Cause Cognitive Impairment? 2019 I Went For Colonoscopy

Can sedation cause cognitive impairment?
2019 I went for colonoscopy where I was given sedation(Midazolam 5mg, Pethidine 5mg) during the procedure. Everything was normal after that but I was asked to come for another colonoscopy the following year which is last year.
2020 I went for a colonoscopy but after the procedure I had trouble regaining consciousness for a few hours. Even the following days, there were a few times where my head will be dizzy and will just bring itself down which felt like losing consciousness but I never did fully lose consciousness. It will last for a few minutes and then I will be back to normal. This happened a few times and I was admitted in the hospital for 5 days, did MRI, EEG, ECG tests but everything was normal. In total I would've consulted about 8 doctors(3 neurologists, 2 gastrologists, 1 Ayurvedic physicians, 2 physicians and more) but none could give me a proper diagnosis. They just said its dehydration, mental issues, bowel issues, etc. But I was pretty sure it wasn’t because they had no test results to prove those diagnoses.
After the fainting episodes, I realised that there’s a very weird feeling in my head. It was very uncomfortable. It was as if something was tight around the top part of my head which made my head nod on its own and sometimes my body does too. It was VERY uncomfortable. I realized I also had trouble focusing, remembering things etc. It was on for a few months where slowly I started getting better and thought that it was gone. But just recently, the uncomfortable feeling and the head nodding episodes repeated. I try my very best to make myself relaxed. And just 2 weeks ago I had the fainting episode again which really shocked me. Because I thought that I was cured. Even if it was without any medicine help. I was really seeking an answer because I have never gone through this before. It was only after the colonoscopy and I believed strongly that it had something to do with the sedation. And when I pulled my 2021 report to see the sedation details, I saw that they have given me Midazolam 10mg, Pethidine 5mg. Higher dosage as I ‘woke up’ during the procedure they claim. After seeing this and a few articles on Google, I strongly believe that this is the cause of me going thru such problems with my head. This is also affecting my daily life. I do not even have a proper diagnosis to what I am going thru. But it seemed pretty similar to a cognitive impairment (or something similar) issue. So, my question is can sedation cause cognitive impairment issues, if not what is it that I am going thru?
