How Does Cognitive Impairment Affect An 82-year-old Man?

I went to a neurosurgeon who deals strictly wtih Alzheimers and dementia. After testing me, he told me that for my age of 82+ I showed no memory loss, but I did show mild signs of cognitive impairment that could lead to dementia. He put me on the drug donepezil. My question: what does cognitive impairment mean at my age?

Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

Usually, the first symptom of Cognitive impairment is short term memory loss like forgetting where you kept your keys, what did you have for breakfast, where did you leave the car in the parking lot etc.
Donepezil will prevent the progression of cognitive impairment.

Hope this answers your question
