Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Reducing Testosterone From Testosterone Therapy Help Control An Overactive Sex Drive?
Male, aged 64 on testosterone therapy. Always horny. Cant look at a good looking female without wanting to jump her. But have frequent ED even with Cialis. Should I reduce testosterone to reduce my over active interest in sex, especially since I can t keep my penis hard half of the time?
Testosterone is often cast as the manly hormone, the chemical bestower of virility and the reason for men's high sex drives. In healthy men, it turns out, testosterone isn't linked to sexual desire at all.
And in women, high testosterone is actually associated with less interest in sex with a partner. Hypersexuality is a clinical diagnosis used by mental healthcare professionals for extremely frequent or suddenly increased libido.
Hypersexuality may be a primary condition, or the symptom of another medical disease or condition. Talk to your doctor regarding this.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. K. V. Anand,
