Can Nightmares Cause Fever And Vomiting In Children?

My almost 5 yr old daughter woke up last night screaming because she said she had a nightmare. She was really warm and had a fever of 102.8, she complained of her head hurting and she threw up once. It has been 9 hrs and already had to give ibuprophen again. Any suggestions?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for asking.
No, nightmares do not cause fever and vomiting in children. But a febrile child in sleep may have nightmare.
Does she have any cough or cold along with fever? Does she have diarrhoea?
I would suggest you get her blood investigations like CBC and MP done.
I hope I have helped you.
Thank you.
