Can Lymph Node Surgery Cause Numbness Of Arm After A Bee Sting?

Hi I was stung by a bee on my middle finger of my left hand. This was the arm I had lymph node surgery on about 10 years ago. I ve never been allergic to bees before but this time my entire hand and wrist, and half way up to my elbow were quite swollen. I took Bactrim and Prednisone (prescribed at the walk in clinic) for 5 days and the swelling is gone....however I now have a persistent numbness in my entire arm, all the way up to my armpit. Could this be an issue with the lymph nodes that are now compromised from my surgery ten years ago or is this normal?

Hi
Welcome to healhcaremagic
After going through your query I concluded that you got a bee sting. After this you got swelling which was reduced after taking treatment for it. Now your arm is numb which is persistent and affect entire arm. I think this issue is nothing to do with lymph nodes removal 10 years ago. Mecobalamin is helpful in reducing the numbness. Vitamin B and C is helpful in recovery. Analgesic such as ibuprofen for pain relief can be used. Your arm will gradually become normal. You can discuss with your Doctor about it.Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then please don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to help you.
Wishing you a good health. Take care.
