Hallow Dear,
If you have started your periods anytime after the unprotected sex, the chances of
pregnancy are very remote. As per your history, though the periods started as light periods, later on the heavy bleeding has started. However, considering the possibility of placental sign (bleeding in early pregnancy at the time of expected menses), for the confirmation of the status you may opt for either of the following tests:
1. Pregnancy test on overnight morning first urine sample after 8 days; done earlier, it may report false negative.
2.
Beta hCG test on the blood: Values above 25 mIU/ml are diagnostic of pregnancy and in non-pregnant state, the values are under 5 mIU/ml.
If you are pregnant, please report to the Obstetrician for the bleeding you had, as it may
pause risk to the pregnancy. Then you may require some Progestational preparation like
Susten to stabilize the pregnancy.
I hope this helps you.
