Can Iodine Be Taken While On Levothyroxine?

I am an 83 y/o female who takes 100 mcg levothyroxine 5 days/week. I eat 2 extra large eggs/day but no meat or fish. Some vegetables. Hemp seeds and yogurt. I do not use salt and take a 225 mcg pill daily. I am concerned that the iodine might not be wise.

Hi,

For low levels of thyroid, continue taking Levothyroxine. Iodine will be a bad idea.

Iodine will be useful only in iodine deficiency problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
