General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
I can understand your concern.

POSTINOR-2 is an emergency contraceptive that can be used within 72 hours after unprotected sex or where a contraceptive method has failed
It is more effective in preventing pregnancy if taken as soon as possible after unprotected sex.
It is not effective and hence not used to terminate the pregnancy.
You should not take this medicine if you are already pregnant.
For termination of pregnanccy (abortion) you must consult a gynecologist for the kit containing Mifiprestone and Misoprostol.

Hope this answers your query.

A feed back is appreciated.
