Can I Work In Office While Suffering From Grand-mal Epilepsy?

Hi I have Grand-Mal Epilepsy and I had a bad one the other day in my toilet I split my lip open,cracked two teeth bruised my forhead and body and got a black eye I have told the Job centre when I went for an interview as they say I am well enough to work I told them Im not Im a danger to myself and others and the lady laughed at me three times,I felt terrible and told her dnt laugh at me I want you to do a risk assessment on me and she refused telling me to go back monday and her manager will do it im on anti convulsion tablets but I still get them please tell me do I have to go to work with this condition

I read your question and I understand your concern.
Epilepsy doesn't mean that one shouldn't work. Perhaps some types of work are not indicated such as driving, or working in construction in high places, operating machinery in a factory and such, jobs which a seizure even if rare could mean a danger to yourself or others.
An office job though presents no such risk and I see no reason not to do it. Of course on the other hand there are cases when the seizures are frequent and it could be an obsctacle to the normal continuation of the office activity, that depends on the frequency of seizures. If too frequent it would affect work I'm afraid.
What is considered by law as justification for not working and getting disability pay is subjective and the regulations might differ from one country to the other. In my country usually if you have 2 generalized seizures a week even after trying several treatment schemes qualify for work disability.
I hope things will work out for the best.
