Can History Of Concussion Result In Sinus Infection?

My 14 year old son suffered a concussion from a basketball injury in November. He was out for 12 weeks. He started back playing in April with no signs or symptoms. In July he caught a sinus infection and have been getting dizzy and having headaches every since. My wife and I are worried and we are going to take him to a neurologist Oct. 14 ... He cant run or jump without getting dizzy. He no longer has a sinus infection. We took him to a ENT and they suggested the neurologist. Any suggestions ?

Hi.
Sinusitis is necessarily a diagnosis which can be done only after a CT scan is done. If not yet done your son needs a CT scan of the sinuses and also of the brain and of the mastoids to see for the internal ear structures as he had a history of concussion and now has the problem of dizziness.
This will help the Neurologist to get a proper diagnosis. Will help the clinical diagnosis to get him the best possible treatment.
Till them, ask your son to take a full bed rest as this is very important to get a relief, to give rest to the balance organs.
No cycling / swimming / up-stair climbing as this can be potentially dangerous.
